Nick is out of town for work this week, so it’s just Basil and me (our 5 year old Dachshund). I’ve been doing pretty well on the food front, if I do say so myself. I was a little worried that I’d slip into my usual habits of only eating cereal and Jimmy John’s. So far, I’ve only consumed cereal for breakfast and haven’t even driven in the general area of JJ’s. I’ll admit I haven’t gotten too adventurous and tried a bunch of new recipes or anything. I’m just sticking with things I know and trying to make sure I get a well-balanced diet. I”m headed to a friend’s house tonight, so we’ll see how I do when I can’t control everything that goes into the meal! From the sounds of it, Nick is doing quite well on his trip. He’s been feeling great everyday and even making time for exercise.
Speaking of…it’s time for me to hit the gym for day 5 of our “Couch to 5K” running plan. I’m not a huge fan of running, but this plan has made it pretty easy to start. We’ll see how I feel in the next few weeks, though, as my running time increases!
