I love french fries. LOVE THEM. After becoming a vegan, my palate has definitely changed. I crave salty foods much more than sweet, unlike before. Now, let me preface this by saying, french fries are NOT something one should eat all the time. I mean, let’s get real. But sometimes, a girl needs french fries. These are tasty, salty and totally satisfying.
Salt & Vinegar French Fries
(recipe adapted from Chloe’s Kitchen)
2 large russet potatoes, cut into 1/4-inch fries
Olive oil, for drizzling
Malt vinegar, for drizzling
Preheat oven to 400. Lightly grease a large baking sheet. In a large bowl, submerge potato sticks in cold water and let soak 15 minutes. Drain and pat dry with paper towels. Transfer potato sticks to the prepared baking sheet in one layer and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt and bake for 35 minutes, flipping with a spatula after 20 minutes. Remove from oven when browned and with crispy edges. Remove from oven, sprinkle with kosher salt and drizzle with malt vinegar. Serve with ketchup, or your favorite french fry condiment.
