Baked Buffalo Cauliflower (vegan & gluten free)

Nick recently found a few recipes for cauliflower buffalo “wings”. We thought it sounded promising as cauliflower holds up really well and really takes in strong flavors. We had high hopes for this recipe. And we weren’t disappointed! Honestly, we spaced on making vegan ranch dressing, but we didn’t really miss it after all. We decided this would be a great recipe for a party, the Superbowl or any time you’re craving that spicy, buffalo flavor! This is one we’ll definitely add to the rotation.

Baked Buffalo Cauliflower
recipe adapted from Soy-Free Vegan
1 cup rice milk
1 cup all purpose flour
3 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 large head cauliflower, cut into pieces
1 cup buffalo sauce (we used Harry & David wing sauce)
1 T olive oil

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly spray baking sheet or shallow baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside. In large bowl combine flour, garlic powder, cayenne and oregano. Add rice milk and whisk to combine. Add cauliflower and mix to coat pieces evenly. Place coated pieces in prepared baking sheet or dish and bake for 20 minutes. While cauliflower is baking, combine wing sauce and oil. When baking is complete, toss baked cauliflower with 2/3 of the wing sauce and mix to coat. Bake for an additional 10 minutes. Drizzle with remaining sauce when baking is done.

Serve with your favorite sides, and enjoy!

  1. This looks wonderful! I am thinking of replacing the rice milk with almond milk to make this dish more paleo friendly.

  2. My husband loves buffalo anything, but hates cauliflower! Maybe he won’t notice if I just make it and told him to eat it? He’d probably question what I was shoving into his face, but I know if I could just get him to eat one he’d probably love it.

    1. Don’t you hate that? When something is so delicious and someone refuses to eat it? Well, I say GOOD LUCK! I’d love to hear if he tries it or not. 🙂
