High Five for Friday

Happy Friday! It’s a foggy, gloomy day here so far, but hopefully the sun will come out soon! Anything fun planned for your weekend? I’d love to hear about it!

Here are my top 5 for this week:

1. Olive got her first BarkBox on Saturday! She was not thrilled about us making her pose for a picture, but it was worth it! She’s loved everything in her box so far. And it was Halloween themed! So fun!

2. We went for a long walk after church on Sunday at a local trail. It was a gorgeous, fall day and Olive had such a great time!

3. Speaking of Olive having a great time, she completely passed out in the car on the way home. TOO CUTE.

4. I took Olive to get her nails trimmed on Monday morning and took her to the park as a reward for being such a good girl! I couldn’t believe how gorgeous this tree was. The color is amazing!

5. After BSF this week, I was finally able to connect with a friend for lunch and catch up. It was good to laugh and share what’s been going on in our lives. We see each other every week, but sometimes it’s just in passing, so it was fun to take the extra time. Bonus: lunch at Chipotle! YUM.

Have a great weekend!

High Five for Friday

I feel a bit like a broken record lately, but I honestly can’t believe it’s Friday again already! And that it’s already October. Where in the world did this year go?! Nick had Monday off and has today off (yay!), so this week hasn’t felt very normal! Needless to say, we are looking forward to a long weekend. We’re thinking of taking a drive up north to take Olive to a park and catch some fall sights along the way. I’d love to hear what you have planned for the weekend!

Here are my top 5 for this week:

1. As I mentioned last week we were headed to Naperville, IL to catch Rend Collective in concert. THEY WERE AMAZING! They truly know how to to joyfully worship God! It was refreshing to worship in such a fun way as opposed to the sometimes rigid feeling of a Sunday morning. We had SUCH a wonderful time!

2. Olive made it just fine without us for the weekend. (I was the anxious fur-mama!) She was very happy to have us home on Sunday afternoon, though!

3. Speaking of Olive, we had a blah, rainy day this week and she loved snuggling and making herself comfy on the couch next to me. The fact that she sleeps like this never fails to crack me up!

4. I was on childcare duty this week for BSF. (everyone who is able to do so volunteers once to help out the volunteers who lead the children’s programs) I was assigned to the 3/4’s. They were in a pretty good group of little people. I only had one little guy ask me about my nose ring.
Him: “What is that in your nose?”
Me: “An earring.”
Him: “Why do you have an earring in your nose?”
Me: “Because it’s pretty and sparkly.”
Him: “Oh.”
Haha! I also showered when I got home. I love little people, but they’re germy. 😉

5. While in Chicago, we made a trek over to Do-Rite Donuts to snag their Vegan Raspberry donut (they have a different vegan flavor everyday). It was pretty darn tasty! My love for Mighty-O donuts runs deep, but this was pretty yummy donut!

High Five for Friday

I can’t believe it’s Friday. I mean, what?! This week FLEW by and I am feeling a little behind on everything, haha! While I might not have been ready for today, I sure am excited it’s the weekend!! We have some fun plans for Olive this weekend – TWO puppy play dates! We can’t wait.

Here are my top five things from this week:

1. Tuesday night was Olive’s second puppy class. She did SO great! We were so proud of her. She was exhausted after class that she couldn’t help but pass out in the car. SO cute.

2. I caught a BOGO at Starbucks with my sister on Wednesday afternoon and Olive was totally over coffee. She was more interested in taking a nap. I die.

3. My first official day at BSF was good. It was great to meet my group and get a better idea of how things work. It was so gorgeous outside yesterday afternoon that I needed to do my homework outside! I couldn’t resist. I love autumn!

4. Nick and I took a class last night at our co-op. Plant-Based Fall Feast. We enjoyed lots of yummy treats and some new recipes that we can’t wait to make our own.

5. And of course I have to be excited it’s Friday and I didn’t even realize it! Happy Friday to me!
